UTeach for Texas partners with local districts to recruit, hire, develop, and retain math and science teachers.
Collaborating with the UTeach program helps us attract candidates who are looking for a robust, supportive alternative certification experience in our harder-to-fill math and science areas. These candidates are enthusiastic about a program that closely collaborates with the district to foster their development and provide support in their first years of teaching.

Recruit and Hire
UTeach for Texas and school district partners promote the STEM Teacher Fellowship Program to degree holders by participating in online and in-person events and by sharing information with key stakeholders in the local area. District partners and UTeach for Texas collaborate to screen and hire candidates and place them in classrooms for the appropriate certification area.
Develop
UTeach for Texas candidates participate in synchronous and asynchronous coursework, peer observations, and preparation for certification exams while teaching full-time. Candidates are supported in the classroom by a dedicated Induction Specialist provided by UTeach for Texas in consultation with district and campus leaders.
Retain
UTeach for Texas and school districts collaborate to develop district-specific strategies (including professional learning options) so teachers are retained and positively impact students.
